Frequently Asked Questions

What is your show about?
About 60 to 75 minutes. Just kidding, the theme of the performance is not so much what I can do as what you are already doing and not even realizing it. Mind Reading, Teleportation, Séance, Sleight of Hand and a lot of fascinating demonstrations and experiments will ensure a unique and entertaining evening.
How long have you been doing magic?
If by ‘doing’ you mean studying that would be about 35 years. If by ‘doing’ you mean performing then I must tell you that my shows have always been rare and very private affairs. I have a theatre in my home that has, over the years, hosted my 'experiments' in the arcane world of magic to only a few select audiences. Many magical routines have met a quick and brutal end in this venue but the magic that succeeds is all the better for it. Only in the last few years have I begun to offer my shows commercially.
Why have your shows now become less ‘rare’?
Time. I have, over the last 30 years, made an excellent living and established a solid career as a large scale system mainframe programmer on IBM computers. Now, having taken early retirement, I have more leisure time to indulge what has literally been a life long passion.
What’s the difference between studying and performing?
Less than you might think. I have spent thousands of hours reading about magic history and technique, which naturally leads to several more thousands of hours seeing if these things are really possible. They are.
How long did it take to create “Familiar With A Wizard”?
At least 6 years, although a case could be made for a far longer time. Remember, this has been done in my leisure time so the actual amount of time spent on the show is considerably more than this total.
